TVS-E Launches Premium TVS Smart Thermal Printer |

Chennai, September 11, 2004:
TVS Electronics has announced its entry into the
thermal printing segment with the launch of its
premium, high performance, compact thermal
printer, TVS Smart.
The TVS Smart is designed for billing, receipt,
label, tickets and barcode printing applications
for retail, transportation and logistics
customers. By adding thermal printers to its
portfolio, TVS-E now offers a complete range of
transaction printing solutions to its customers.
TVS Smart is the lowest priced, direct thermal
printer in its class available in the market
today. Positioned as an entry-level thermal
printer, it is lower than other available
thermal printer models, according to the
company. TVS Smart is priced at Rs 13,500 and
comes with a one-year on-site warranty.
Thermal printers offer a direct advantage over
their counterparts in terms of high speed, low
noise, compactness and low maintenance. In
addition, thermal printing technology does not
require additional consumables such as toner or
ink ribbon that add cost and more importantly
additional service or maintenance calls.
The key features include: fast and high printing
quality: 203 dpi; print paper width of 80
mm/3.14" (40 Col to 71 Col); printing speed of 2
inches per second or 50 mm per second; Windows
3.1/95/98/NT compatible; Main 1D and 2D barcodes
symbologies; Flash memory for upgrades; easy
paper loading technology, and ESC/POS compatible
with an RS323C (Serial Port) Interface; accepts
multiple media types; small footprint; CE, UL
and FCC compliance. |
