TVS-E is the Market Leader in Dot Matrix: IDC |

TVS Electronics dominates the Dot Matrix Printer
(DMP) category with a 5.6 percent increase in
market share over the previous quarter. TVS-E
has also garnered a 44.4 percent share in terms
of volume, according to IDC's latest report.
TVS-E has achieved a market share of 45 percent
in the DMP segment for the second quarter, 2004.
S Narendran, GM-marketing, TVS-E, said, "Having
been the leader in DMP segment, our vision of
taking IT to the heart of India and expanding
the DMP has helped us grow the DMP market and
also increasing our market share. IT demand has
slowly been growing in the rural sector."
"Foreseeing the potential of DMPs away from the
metros and in the next 256 towns, we began
consolidating our position by initiating a
massive demand-generation campaign in 2003,
which has paid rich dividends for us. We are
very confident that with the current market
share we can take the figure forward to 50
percent by the next couple of quarters," he
added.
To further strengthen its position, TVS-E also
launched an aggressive channel expansion program
in the beginning of the year.
The IDC report also reveals that TVS-E is
India's No. 2 printer company behind HP (across
all printer categories) and its value share of
45 percent is more than double that of its next
multinational competitor. |
